Some common questions

Most people would think to ask the first question, but not the second, even though the editing is just as important as the shooting. We feel that a production suffers greatly if it is shot by one person and edited by another. Would you want someone making editing decisions who wasn't at your wedding with first hand experience of the event? The shooter and the editor need to be in a creative sync. At Lovelight every wedding is personally shot and edited by Craig Forster. If you chose a 2 camera package (Elegance or Distinction), then we will have a 2nd professional videographer operating the 2nd camera.

We use the latest DSLR camera's - a Canon 5D Mark 2, and Canon 60D. Both look exactly like the camera a photographer would have, but both have been given excellent reviews by independent film-makers. If you opt for the Blu-Ray upgrade then we may have a Canon 7D as well. Often we will also setup a small Sony HDV Camera for your reception speeches.

Where possible, we try to use whatever natural light is available at your venue, so we keep our filming as unobtrusive as possible. We prefer to keep the ambience and mood that you have set for your special day and don't want to turn your wedding reception into a make-shift TV studio. The cameras we have chosen shoot exceptionally well in low light, so we only usually bring out our small LED light for complete darkness.

All of our packages require a $500 deposit to hold your date. Remember we do one wedding per day - so once that date is booked it's yours!

With all of our packages you get 3 sequences - your wedding movie (which varies in length depending on which package you select), your full length ceremony (usually between 20 minutes and 1 hour) and your full length reception - which is known to be between 30 minutes and 90.

We aim for a 4-6 week delivery of your wedding DVDs. Blu-Ray disks take a bit longer so we aim for a 6-8 week delivery on those.
