Shawn & James – Same Day Edit.
After coming from Melbourne for their destination wedding, waking up to heavy rain is not what anyone would plan on, but it wasn’t going to detract from the incredible day Shawn and James had in store for their spectacular Queenstown wedding.
Sharing a house with their twelve groomsmen and groomsmaids, our two grooms couldn’t have dreamt of a more special day. The weather cleared and after a walk together down to the Shotover River, our grooms got ready – looking sharp in matching navy suits, detailed with custom cufflinks. They departed in style, taking four classic cars to Mt Soho Winery. Guests were treated to a beautiful ceremony as Shawn and James walked down the aisle with their Mums, lead in by a pōwhiri from one of Shawn’s Whānau (family).
Following the ceremony we took off in three helicopters to Cecil Peak for some photos – sneaking close to the edge for the most epic group shots.
Shawn and James were cheered into their divinely decorated reception where we heard toasts, speeches, blessings and a waiata (Māori song) from Shawn’s whānau. Shortly after the last speech, all of the guests headed into the Antler Room where they were treated to this Same Day Edit, shortly followed by the first dance with LA Social.
Overall this day was spectacular; incredible scenery, beautiful styling, clearing weather, excellent planning (Thanks Laura from Mint Events) and lots of touching speeches. But what really stands out is the warm and embracing nature of everyone that was there! Thank you so much for having us as part of your day!
